Breaking news: Earthquake with 6.5 extent strikes Alaska Peninsula two months after largest quake to hit US in fifty years hit


An earthquake of extent 6.5 hit the Alaska Peninsula on Monday, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre said.

The earthquake, which hit 114 km east of the city of Chignik, was at a thoroughness of 75 km (46.60 miles), EMSC said.

No tsunami warning was issued after the earthquake hit.
