Arsenal reportedly ‘monitoring’ Saints star Moi Elyounoussi

ARSENAL are “monitoring” Saints star Mohamed Elyounoussi, following his impressive start to the season, according to a report in the Daily Record.

Leicester City are also said to be interested in the 27-year-old.

Elyounoussi joined Saints from Basel for £16million in the summer of 2018, penning a five-year deal.

However, he struggled for regular game-time after Mark Hughes was sacked a replaced by Ralph Hasenhuttl during his first season in England.

Two seasons out on loan at Celtic followed, where Elyounoussi became a meaningful part of the team, winning three trophies.

Elyounoussi has now brought that form back to Saints and is currently the club’s top scorer this season with four goals in seven appearances. He has also registered two assists.

Boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has been complete of praise for the Norway international this season, who has also impressed on the international scene, scoring twice in a 2-0 win over Montenegro in a World Cup qualifier earlier this month.

And according to Scottish outlet the Record, Elyounoussi’s form has not gone unnoticed, with Premier League pair Arsenal and Leicester keeping tabs on his situation at St Mary’s ahead of the January move window.
